The SIM card is a tiny, rectangular card found in many mobile phones that acts as an ID card for your handset. It is usually located behind the battery. SIM cards are also used in portable electronic devices, such as iPads. Over time, you'll probably find yourself accumulating unwanted SIM cards by reason of changing providers, outdated SIMs, free promotions, and so forth. Rather than throwing them away, by following these instructions, you can turn a pair of unwanted SIM cards into high-tech earrings.
- 1Pierce a hole through the top center of the SIM card. Use a thumbtack, a pin, or a small nail.

- 2Widen the hole if necessary. Make sure the hole is wide enough to get the jump ring through by wiggling the pin around in it. You might also widen it with the tip of a pen or other tapered point.
- 3Open the jump ring using pliers. It's best to twist the jump ring sideways as this will not only open it more easily, but also make it close more securely.
- 4Slip the SIM card on to the jump ring.
- 5Slip an earring hook on to the jump ring and close tightly. The earrings are now ready for wearing or giving as a gift
